Website privacy and cookies

VOCO AS operates the Quizy website. Contact support@quizhost.ai about your information or privacy choices. This notice covers the public website and Quizy newsletter signups, including our quiz forms on Facebook and Instagram; the app has its own privacy notice.

Optional analytics

The cookie panel asks about each optional purpose in use on the site, and only those. Analytics is always one of them, answered with Accept or Reject. While advertising measurement is switched on (see below), the panel asks about both purposes at once, with Accept all, Analytics only and Reject as the answers. Analytics and advertising measurement are separate purposes and you can accept one without the other. A choice answers only the purposes the panel asked about: an earlier answer to a panel that asked only about analytics carries your analytics choice forward and nothing else, and the first page that offers advertising measurement asks you about it, with your earlier answer still in force until you reply.

If you accept analytics, we use Google Analytics to understand visits, pages read, scrolling, article links, demo plays, App Store link clicks and how the newsletter form is used: whether it came into view, was started, was submitted or showed an error, and where on the page it was. These measurements never include your email address or anything you type. Google receives usage and device information, such as browser, device category, approximate location and a cookie identifier. We use this information to improve the site and understand which campaigns bring visitors. Consent is the basis for this optional collection.

We do not load Google Analytics before you accept. Rejecting analytics leaves the website and demo available. We do not send email addresses or spoken answers to Analytics. Arbitrary URL query strings and fragments are excluded; a campaign label in the page address is passed through only if it is a short code of letters, digits and simple punctuation, so an email address or a message cannot reach Analytics through a link. Advertising storage, advertising personalisation and Google Signals are disabled in our website tag.

Google Analytics uses first-party cookies whose names begin _ga. We configure these cookies to expire after 180 days without extending their expiry on each visit. We also store your cookie choice in your browser for 180 days. Analytics retains event data for two months and user data for 14 months, with the user-data retention period renewed on new activity. Aggregate reports can be retained longer.

Use Cookie settings in the footer of any page to change your choice. Rejecting after accepting stops future collection and removes Analytics cookies from this site; it does not automatically delete data already processed. You may also clear your browser’s site data. We cannot identify your visits from an email address alone because we do not send it to Analytics.

Meta advertising measurement

This section applies while advertising measurement is switched on, which is when the cookie panel names Meta and offers Accept all; until then no page on this site carries the pixel and no information is sent through it to Meta. If you choose Accept all, we load the Meta pixel so we can tell whether our Facebook and Instagram advertising leads to newsletter signups or App Store visits. The website pixel is not loaded and sends no information to Meta before you choose it. Consent is the basis for this optional collection, and rejecting it leaves the whole website and the demo available.

When it is loaded, Meta receives a page view for each page you open — including the page address — together with usage and device information, an advertising identifier from Meta's own cookies, and these specific actions: reading an article, tapping an App Store button, starting or finishing the audio demo, and submitting the newsletter form. Our website pixel does not send Meta your email address, anything you type, or anything spoken in a game. The Facebook and Instagram forms described below are separate: Meta receives what you submit inside those forms. We turn off the pixel's automatic configuration, so it does not collect button clicks or form contents of its own accord. Before the pixel loads, we remove everything after the page address from the address bar except Meta's own click identifier (fbclid), which Meta adds to links from its ads, so other URL parameters and fragments are not sent to Meta.

We send Meta's standard Lead event only after the signup service accepts a newsletter form submission. Clicking the signup button or receiving an error does not count as a lead. People can subscribe without accepting advertising measurement; those submissions are not sent to Meta by the website pixel.

The pixel sets cookies named _fbp and _fbc on this site. Meta is an independent controller for what it does with this information, including combining it with a Facebook or Instagram account and using it for advertising. Use Cookie settings in the footer of any page to withdraw. Withdrawing stops the pixel, tells it to treat your consent as revoked, removes the _fbp and _fbc cookies from this site and reloads the page so the library stops running. It does not automatically delete information Meta has already processed; you can also use the settings in your Facebook or Instagram account to limit how Meta uses activity from other websites.

Essential website operation

Our server processes connection information, including IP addresses and request details, to deliver and secure the website. Server access logs support troubleshooting and security. These operations are separate from optional Analytics. The site also remembers a colour-theme choice in local storage when you use the theme switch.

Our App Store buttons point at a /go/ address on this site, which redirects you to the App Store. That redirect is recorded in our own server access log, like any other request to the website, so we can count how many people left for the store without depending on cookies or on your cookie choice. The log records the address requested, the time, and the usual connection details; it does not identify you and it is not shared with Meta or Google. App Store campaign links may add a campaign label to the store address so Apple can report, in aggregate, how many downloads a campaign produced.

The signup forms on our homepage work the same way. When a form comes into view, when its email field is selected and when it is submitted, the page sends a short signal to an /e/ address on this site, so we can see where signups stall. The signal names the step, the form's place on the page and, for an error, its kind. It never contains your email address or anything you type, sets no cookie, does not depend on your cookie choice, and is recorded only in the same server access log.

Quizy newsletter

If you subscribe, we email you the Quizy newsletter with product news, new quizzes and offers. We use single opt-in: we do not ask you to confirm your address by email before subscribing. After your signup is processed, we send a welcome email explaining what to expect, with an unsubscribe link. If somebody else entered your address, you can use that link or contact us to stop further newsletters. Consent is the basis for sending the newsletter. Newsletter consent is separate from analytics consent; you do not need to accept analytics to subscribe.

We use MailerLite, a company registered in Lithuania, to hold the subscriber list and send the newsletter. MailerLite processes your email address, the date you subscribed, the consent wording you agreed to, and delivery and engagement information for the messages we send. We do not keep a copy of the subscriber list on our own server. Our support mailbox remains with iCloud. We do not sell subscriber addresses. We record the exact wording you agreed to and the date you agreed to it, because consent we cannot evidence is not consent.

Use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter, or email support@quizhost.ai, to withdraw consent. Unsubscribing stops further newsletters. We keep active subscriptions until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete you. After withdrawal, we retain the minimum suppression record needed to respect your opt-out, and consent records for as long as needed to demonstrate the basis for past messages or resolve a complaint. You can contact us about deletion of these records.

The website signup form itself stores nothing. Short-lived, keyed hashes of IP addresses limit signup abuse; they are held in memory only, never written to disk, and the key that produces them is discarded whenever the service restarts. Raw IP addresses are not stored by the newsletter signup service; website server logs are described above.

Facebook and Instagram quiz forms

When you open or submit a Quizy form inside Facebook or Instagram, Meta handles your activity and the information you enter under Meta’s privacy policy. If you choose to join the newsletter and submit the form, VOCO AS receives your email address and explicit consent response. Your quiz answer alone does not subscribe you. Where a form offers a “No thanks” route, taking that route does not add you to our newsletter list.

We use Make to transfer newsletter signups from Meta to MailerLite. Our Make organization uses the EU region. Make processes the submitted lead and may retain execution records for delivery and troubleshooting. MailerLite manages the subscription and sends our emails. The providers and their sub-processors may also process information outside Norway and the EEA under their applicable data-processing and transfer arrangements. Alongside your email, we record your quiz answer, consent response and wording, original submission time, lead and form identifiers, and the source ad identifier when available. These records let us evidence your choice, handle duplicate submissions and understand which quiz version brought subscribers. Existing unsubscribes are preserved. The newsletter retention and withdrawal arrangements above apply to these signups too.

The website cookie choices control the website’s optional tracking. They do not control Meta’s processing inside Facebook or Instagram or the information you choose to submit through a Meta form.

Contact

If you email support, your message and address are handled through our existing iCloud business mailbox so we can respond. Contacting support does not automatically subscribe you to the newsletter.

You may contact us to request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information, withdraw consent, or exercise other applicable data-protection rights. You can also complain to Datatilsynet.
